• Open a South Shore Bank Account.

  Stop by any branch or open an account online. When opening your account, you can add several other features, including a Debit Mastercard®, Online Banking with Free Bill Pay, eStatements, Mobile Banking and more!

• Move your direct deposit.

  Simply download and complete the Direct Deposit Change Notice form. Bring this form to your employer’s Human Resources department to authorize the change.

  To switch government direct deposits, such as social security, call the numbers below and make the change over the phone.

• Change Automatic Payment Deductions.

  If you have automatic payments that you would like withdrawn from your South Shore Bank account, simply download and complete the Automatic Payment Change Notice form and send this to each vendor. Here is a list of area service providers and their contact information for your reference.

• Sign up for Online Banking with Free Bill Pay and Mobile Banking.

  South Shore Bank’s Online Banking allows you to access your accounts from anywhere you have internet connection. You can view balances, transactions and transfer funds. You can even pay bills with just the click of a button. Plus, when you enroll in Mobile Banking, you can access your account information from any mobile phone with either text message or mobile web access. These easy-to-use directions and checklist will help you switch or set up bill payments.

• Close your old account.

  Once your South Shore Bank account has been opened and your direct deposit is being properly credited, you should notify your previous institution to close your account, using the Authorization to Close Account form. You should bring this form to South Shore Bank so we can notarize it for you. It is typically a good idea to have your former account remain open until your statement arrives to verify that all of your checks have cleared before closing the account. You should immediately destroy any ATM / Debit cards as well as your remaining checks. If you bring your checks to us, we’ll be happy to shred them for you.
